A short history about the first missionary in Pogapa

The first missionary in the Moni land

In August 1915 Leonardo and Eva Cutts were filled with joy because they were going to have a baby, but something surprised them.  The doctor told them to choose to save Leonardo’s wife or the baby’s life, and Leo choose his wife's life.

The baby was taken out and was doing badly. His eyes were taken out and were doing badly. His eyes were out and he had many scratches that were bloody. They thought he was dead but no! it was amazing! he was still alive. His name Is Bill Cutts b

The problem he faced

“William A Cutts” or as he usually called bill Cutts had many struggles with the body. When he graduated from the university, he had a friend named Gracie betty that woman would become his future wife. Bill started to tell the C&MA mission about his call to the mission field buy they said he couldn’t because he still had problems. He prayed and tried again after that, God opened away. At first, he wanted to Africa but instead, they went to the Dutch colonies area, named the Dutch new guinea area. that area is now called West Papua or irian Jaya.  

Welcome to Moni land

When he arrived in Holandia “now was Jayapura, in colonial the time they called (Hollandia)” he choose to keep going to the middle of Papuan, they arrived in 1954 in moni land. He started to travel day by day. One day he got very tired and they wanted to stop at another place, Gracie was too tired and felt sick but a man who helped them carry their bag came and told them, Bill ”if you stop hire, the moni people will never hear the good message, and they all will die. But if you go they will be saved. After hearing that he was encouraged to believe that it was god message so he and Gracie went to moni land in Homeyo for the first time.

Last of his journey

Their son is Zani mala or Jhon Cutts. He was the second generation from C&MA. They gave him to the Moni people. After the 35 years they were there together, he needed he need to rest in a very peaceful place, so he went back to his real Father.

Now Jhon Cutts is still doing his father’s as a missionary in moni land but also in many other place. He is known as a hero for bringing in the gospel. They named a theology school in his name “William cutts bible school”, in Hitadipa
